A fine 1:8 large-scale collector’s model of the Mercedes-Benz W196 Monoposto as raced to victory by Stirling Moss at the British Grand Prix at Aintree in July 1955.
Mercedes’ dominance in the 1955 Formula One season was akin to their performance 60 years later. Even more so because it took place at the British Grand Prix, the first one to be held in Aintree. It was a smashing 1-2-3-4 win for the W196 Monopostos with local hero Stirling Moss ahead of, Juan Manuel Fangio, Karl Kling and Piero Taruffi.
This model has been hand-crafted utilising our own CAD data created by scanning an original car in every detail. The resulting prototype has undergone strict scrutiny by Mercedes-Benz to ensure complete accuracy.
