A fine 1:8 large-scale collector’s model of the Mercedes-Benz SSKL as raced to victory by Rudolf Caracciola at the Mille Miglia in April 1931, the first victory by a non-Italian national.
The ‘White Elephant’ was the winning car at the 1931 Mille Migilia driven to triumph by the first non-Italian driver (despite his name) Rudolf Caracciola at the wheel of a car manufactured in Germany. Caracciola (who shared the drive with Wilhelm Sebastian) clinched this victory with the specially lightened SSKL against a massive opposition of Alfa Romeos and all the Italian big names like Nuvolari and Campari.
This model has been hand-crafted utilising our own CAD data created by scanning an original car in every detail. The resulting prototype has undergone strict scrutiny by Mercedes-Benz to ensure complete accuracy.
